When going from hotel Redyk to the left, come to the bus stop and hence you drive to Poronin. Then you need to get by bus to Nowy Targ and then travel directly to Niedzica by bus (hours of departures of buses from Nowy Targ to Niedzica: 7:25AM, 7:30AM, 10:00AM, 11:00AM, 13:10PM, 17:40PM). You can also get there by car following the page in Nowy Targ and further towards Nowy Sacz.

The history of the castle.

Picturesquely located on a hill high above the canyon waters castle was built in the first half of the fourteenth century by the descendant of a Hungarian family of Berzeviczy, who were the owner of these lands that times. Fortress was developed in the XV, XVI and XVIII centuries by subsequent Hungarian owners of Niedzica. Currently, a Gothic castle ruins remained, but survived to prison dungeons and some residential apartments and traces decorating once the chapel museum paintings depicting the Crucifixion. In contrast, the buildings form a compact subsequent complex with roofed porches, towers and walls. In 1963, after restoration, the castle was made available to the public.

Museum in Niedzica collect associated with the castle, archaeological, architectural relics of stone-mason decorated the castle, prints and engravings of views of the castle in different times and historical documentation. The museum collections are also ethnographic exhibits from the Spisz, including an interesting collection of clocks.

In the castle there is an exhibition titled "The Castle in Niedzica - history, archaeology, architecture" The museum is open daily from 10:00AM to 16:00PM, while in the summer months (from May to September) from 9:00AM to 17:00PM.
